Keeping it Basic

Posted by Cathy at 4:38 PM 7 comments
Another hot, hot day in Delaware. So as repetitive as it is I decided to wear pretty much the same looking outfit again. This time I just stuck with your basic colors: white, navy and tan. I pulled a essential white button down (with some extra opaque design detailing plus a bow) and lifted my navy blue skirt up and tied it together with a gray/purple linking belt.
For my shoes I wore a double Mary Jane knock off in a tan color. The company that made these shoes are Anne Michelle I think..They have such a great variety of shoes and colors to go with any mood and outfit.
For some extra fun I threw in some Ann Taylor loft bracelets I found for $10 each! I decided to wear both the silver and gold since it would make great accents with the color scheme I was going with.
I feel these pieces are so essential to my closest because it is timeless and will never go out of fashion. The only thing you have to do is change the way you wear them and what you pair it with and you're ready to start the day!

Breeze With Side Of Skirt

Posted by Cathy at 8:52 PM 3 comments
It's an extremely hot day out and I was in need of something with a little breeze (Excuse my wet hair it was too humid to even think about whipping out a dryer). I decided to pair an old brown floral skirt with a navy blue tank. I just love mixing different colors together. And to tie it all in I wore a thrifted bronze gem necklace I got for only $2. (One of my favorite finds)
I felt great wearing the skirt. Not only was I comfortable and free, I felt in season and style. For the upcoming season expect to see a lot of flowy skirts with basics tops and a skinny belt to tie the look together. Wear sandals or wedges during the day, trade in your tank/tee for a silky blouse and a slimmer heel at night.

Sunday was my sister's engagement ceremony! It was a little chaotic but everything turned out well. Congratulations to my sister Sarah and her Fiancé Calvin. I can not wait for the wedding in September. We are going to go shopping for bridesmaid dresses on Saturday. I guess its about time to lose the weight I gained while I was at school.

Rompin' It

Posted by Cathy at 5:42 AM 3 comments
Gotta make this quick before I leave for work. It looks like a beautiful day out and weather channel says its going to be a sunny one! I know I have a hectic day at Express, moving sale and whatnot, so I decided to wear my purple romper!! I wanted to belt it with a bracelet and matching necklace but I could not find the belt...I guess I didn't bring everything home from school yet.
I know its a change for some people and some may call it a jumpsuit, but it's a romper and its super comfortable. Plus, it is one of those pieces that should be a staple in your closet! It is great for everyday wear and if you need a quick going out outfit, you're in the money. Pair it up with some cute accessories or add some shape with a belt.
So here is my purple romper with a great feather flowered headband I got on sale at Charlotte Russe! (Enjoy my fan on the side) I am ready to attack my day of work and errands, only three days left until my sister's engagement ceremony. ITS CRUNCH TIME
Some crash while taking my pictures eek.

In The Grey Haze

Posted by Cathy at 10:52 AM 1 comments
Back home from school! I am back to working at Express, at least until my internship starts on the cruise ship. (Don't get too excited..it is a 55+ cruise ship) Again, I have been lacking on my posts. My sister's engagement party is next Sunday so there is so much prep work to be done.

Unlike yesterday, today is hot and humid. I think the high is 83 and it is supposed to rain too, which will make it worse. Luckily, I will be working tonight and the air conditioner should be on.
I wanted to wear something that will give me a breezy look combined with a night look.
I got the shirt a little while ago before I left for Vegas for Spring Break. It is now one of my favorites, it can be worn casual and dressy plus it is super comfortable.

The owl watch necklace I found randomly at F21 waiting for my friend to return something. I have seen a couple people wear owl necklaces and always wanted one. I finally saw one with cute colorful watch numbers and the best part is it was only $6! The earrings I got from express, one of the many things I accumulated after working there for 4 years.
Have a great weekend everyone, enjoy the beautiful weekend! By the way, I want to purchase a curler, not anything expensive but one that works well with straight hair?

Boston Proper

Posted by Cathy at 3:41 PM 3 comments
Sorry for neglecting my blog, but I didn't bring my laptop to Boston. First! DOES ANYONE SHOP AT LULUS? They are giving my readers 15% off, the code is EXTRATRIMMINGS.

Kevin and I visited our friend Tim in Boston and had a blast! As you can see we went to the Celtics vs. Cavaliers game which was really fun. But I have to say there are some hard core fans crazy people out there.
One of our nights we went to a place called "The Beehive" I would recommend everyone to check this place out if you like jazz, great food and a place to relax with your friends. Here is their website http://www.beehiveboston.com/
While we were there our waitress, who I believe is to be Kevin's beer-mate had a really great bohemian outfit. I love the sequin vest, the back was a skinny racerback and the pattern on her skirt was pretty. She wore a simple two by two tank to pull the whole outfit together and added a pink pearl necklace. It was a lot of different unique components that blended well together.

We also went to the Sam Adam's Brewery. That was amazing, free beer tasting at the end and a pretty great looking cup to keep as the souvenir. We also visited Man vs. Food Barking Crab restaurant. The New England Clam Chowder was amazing and the amounts of food they gave us was amazing. The seafood was so fresh!

Unfortunately, I did not really take pictures of myself while in Boston with the crazy wind and rain we encountered. But I did take a picture when we got home from our trip. It is safe to say that my entire outfit was from express, except for the belt which was thrifted and the shoes which were from F21.

Spring Breeze, Summer Shine

Posted by Cathy at 10:54 AM 3 comments
Took my last final yesterday at 8 a.m! Waking up today and not having to worry about anything being due, going to any classes and taking any test, that feeling is amazing! Looking out the window and seeing the beautiful sunshine just adds to it. BUT! No one told me how windy it was today...

I have on a Celia Birtwell dress with a black stretch belt to give it some shape. The sleeves on the dress is long and has a stretch around my wrist, so I just pulled it up and made it look a little more modern with a twist of peasant top style.

THANK YOU XIXI for taking my pictures outside..but I had to post the pictures I took myself inside only because it was way too sunny and my dress was flying around everywhere. I am embarrassed to say that my dress flew up while she was taking a picture!

As windy as it is out there I grabbed the bottom of my dressed and continued to walk down the street. Oh! going to Boston to visit a good friend tomorrow, I'll take some pictures and try to post soon!

From Paris to USA

Posted by Cathy at 10:18 PM 8 comments
This is the result of studying for my two finals tonight, a list of cravings I am having from www.axparisusa.com This site is my new rage! They have cute dresses and tops for a reasonable price, anywhere from 16-70. It is mainly in the $30 range for dresses, now that is a steal! Here are a couple of my favorite dresses:
This Square Shoulder Dress is only $36.00 Besides the unique shoulders the zipper in the back is especially sexy. Pair this dress is an obi belt for a feminine touch and a round closed toe shoe to add a military look and you've got a dress outfit for a night out on the town!
This is another favorite of mine: Lace Panel Dress. This one is also $36.oo It would be a great day time look with a pair of silver ballet flats and a black blazer with some rolled up sleeves. It will keep it a soft and sweet look with a bit of mystery. For a night out? Lose the jacket, add a knotted pearl necklace and trade in your flats for some strappy heel.

The left rose petal strapless dress is $70. It may seem a little pricey at first but the detail is amazing. The right, White multi lead skirt, takes a different adaptation of those 2-in-1 dresses we see everywhere. This dress is also $36. I love that leafy look. It's so fun to wear.

If you guys like any thing here check out their website!!! www.axparisusa.com There is a promotional code where you get 20% off just type in M8FZ5ZZ9 while checking out. What are your favorites?

Yester-Late

Posted by Cathy at 12:23 PM 1 comments

Alright guys, this post is a little late since I wanted to put it up yesterday but forgot my camera at my place when I left. Anyways this is just another way of my procrastinating before studying for me 8 a.m final tomorrow.
Unlike today, yesterday was bright and sunny so I thought I would take advantage of it while it lasted (good thing because it cloudy and raining today). Ignore my red face, I was baking cookies and fudge and it got a little hot in my apartment.

I just wanted to give a close up of my shoes and accessories: 1) I forget I have these shoes since they are hidden behind my closet so it's like buried treasure 2) I love the watch (something my boyfriend picked out and got me)

HELLO!

Posted by Cathy at 11:19 AM 0 comments
I decided to start my own blog after following Elaine, you can follow her blog here clothed much.

A little about me? As you can see from my side bar I am a Penn State student graduating this fall (so excited AND sad). I am majoring in Hotel, Restaurant, & Institutional Management, basically I just LOVE people. I don't have much in my closet or in my bank account, but I try to make due. I love how these bloggers here publish their style and each one is so different. That is why I decided to start mine, plus I think it would be fun to see my own outfits.

My style is eclectic. I vary each day from prep to rock n roller. I am also a college student running to classes and "activities" (I mean, I do go to Penn State), so I do have my bum days.

I'll put up my first outfit soon you guys, once I find my camera in these drawers...
